The CACHE Level 3 course is designed for learners who wish to build the knowledge and skills required when working with children and young people from birth to 5 years, with knowledge of children up to age 7 years.
On completion of this course, learners will be qualified as Early Years Teacher/ Practitioner.
The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) prepares you to become Early Years Educators and enables you to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain understanding of children aged 5 to 7 years.
Upon achievement of this qualification it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.
This qualification is suitable for a range of learners, either working or wishing to work in early years education sector.
The Learner must hold a high school diploma, CACHE Level 2 Certificate or working as teaching assistant or volunteer in a nursery or pre-school settings.
The structure of this qualification is based on three themes which covers 23 (Twenty Three) units, namely:
• Theme 1: Health and well-being
• Theme 2: Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
• Theme 3: Play, development and learning for school readiness
Learners must attain:
• 23 mandatory units
• Guided Learning 486 (hours)
To gain this qualification, the learner must:
• Pass all units
• Complete longitudinal study
• Show competence in a real work environment
Yes, placements are mandatory for achievement of this qualification. A minimum of 350 placement hours is required under pre-school or nursery setting. During placement hours, learners will need support and seek guidance from a professional within their real work environment who will be required to complete professional development records.
After the Completion of this qualification, you will be entitled to work or enter the workforce as Early Years Educators. You can progress into various job roles in the statutory, voluntary, or private sectors such as:
• Assistant in Children’s Centres
• Educator in nursery schools
• Practitioner in reception classes in primary schools
• Pre-school worker
